New Tech Entrepreneurial Academy
New Tech’s Entrepreneurial Academy is an exemplary model for entrepreneurship education in southwestern Indiana. EA is a half-day program where students learn to plan, launch, and run their own business or social impact organization. Juniors learn marketing, human resources, and the building blocks of running a business. Seniors build their business toward launch, and have the opportunity during the second semester to run their business. Students experience many field trips and guest speakers as part of this experiential sequence of courses, and they have the opportunity to earn more than twenty college credits and a Technical Certificate from Ivy Tech Community College. Students participate in the University of Evansville Changemaker Challenge as well as the statewide Innovate WithIN competition.
EA alumni have launched several successful businesses, and in 2024 two EA students won the University of Evansville Changemaker Challenge.
